Some random mumblings

Well, Windows to run on the new Intel Macs. Sweet. Though this does mean I'd need a new laptop and I don't think there's much chance of that in the near future. All this travel has depleted my funds quite quickly, but I've been lucky to be able to be taken care of family staying all over. http://www.apple.com/macosx/bootcamp/
The laptop has been the most awesome travelling tool. To get online, upload photos, edit them. Being able to stay in touch with people via email is a godsend. I'm not not sure what it wouldv'e been like to travel 20 years ago without it. Being able to research places and tours etc is great before you get to a place.

But looking into the new video Ipods, seems that they don't support transfer via Firewire. I was going to give some music to one of Ems friends here who has one, and it tells me to use the UISB cord. Weak. I always take the firewire with me as it transfers quicker. Bit of a step backwards imo.

I'm off back home on Wednesday, which means I'm back home on Thursday and need to sort out when I go back to work. I'm expecting a bit of work to be waiting and get on top of in the first few weeks. I've been quite enjoyng just doing whatever takes my fancy each day and the only worry I really have is to know when and how to make it to the airport for the next flight and how much my gear weighs. Now I have to think about driving places, petrol, bills, organising interent, a mobile phone blah blah blah. Oh well, abck to reality soon. Way too soon. Though on the upside, there are some tings I'm looking forward to, like being able to get a pie and an iced coffee. Being able to eat late at night. Yiros is high on my list of goodies to eat when I get back. But no longer will I be able to take a $100 and live of that for a week, ie food for me and Em, taxis maybe some clothes and a bit of beer. Maybe a lot of beer. Not sure how I'll cope without wifey being about for such a long time, especially when it's not going to be that easy to just drop things and see her. It was a little strange when I first got here and had to get used to sharing a bed again. She complained about my snoring, which I'm sure I dont :) Em's got to return to work tomorrow, so I'll be back out exploring the Old Quarter again, though I'm not too sure if there's a lot I haven't seen there yet. A lot os Same Same, but Different. I haven't done a huge amount of things whilst I've been here, more of a break and holiday with Em. B ut it's given me a greater enthusiasm to come back later in the year and see a lot more of the country. I'd like to do a motorbike tour, from Nah Trang back to Hanoi. I think it'd be an awesome way to see the place, more of the 'real' Vienam so to speak. We'll wait and see.

Pees y'all, hope to catch up with some of you soon.
