October. . .

Well, been in Sydney for a few days. Had to go for work and stayed the weekend for a bit of a look. Caught up with some old Adelaide crew from work and had a briefing about going back to India. Met some good people from Sydney who we work with and is always good to make the names stick to faces. I think we have a good strong group going over for our product which will make work an easier experience. Damn I love the train system in Sydney, and compoared to home it's always so green. Always makes me want to live in high density places, but not really sure how long that fascination would actually last. Got some records and came back with another pair of kicks, surely I have anough now. . .

Bondi

Was damn cold and windy, the surfers are still keen but.

Some news. . . .

Well, got news during the week that I'll be doing another stint in India, this time Dehli. Should be good, but a lot of work needs ot be done between now and then to ensure I'm on top of the product and know it like the back of my hand. Some familiar faces are going back and some new, so should be an good time. After seeing a video recently of some of our counter parts over there, it reminded me of how much fun and rewarding the work actually was. It was somehitng which I had kind of forgotten, I think due to the fact I went straight to Malaysia and Vietnam afterward. We're scheduled for February at the moment, but we'll see how that goes. Maybe I'll get a bit more of our swelterning summer this year.
Had a wicked BBQ with my co-workers on the weekend, which was cool. Great to see my bosses new place which has been in the making for quite sometime, so I'm sure she's relieved to be in and gettnig somewhat settled.
I went to see Ben Folds the other night with the Adelaide Symphony Orchestra, another gig through my mate Mat G, and an awesome gig. Not someone I've ever really been exposed to a lot of, but he is a fantastic entertainer and the show was great. He entertained th whole way through. Kind of been missing the regular gigs, so its been good to get out and see some acts recently. I may have a regular DJ gig again soon with BVA, so I look forward to that. DJing a few weeks ago got me inspired to want to DJ again, I didn't realise how much I missed it. I've been spending a bit of time recording my vinyl into Serato so I can use it when I;m out, I didn't realise that until I went through a big system that MP3's sound crap, so the dream of having access to all types of stuff isn't quite there, they do, but I think there's some serious issues with some of the quality. Gotta rock a friends party this Saturday night, so I need to get a load more done by then, problemn is finding where all my hip hop records are stashed and recording them, need some surefire rockers! Sorry no photos of recent, I broke my bloody comera!

What the . . . .

Life is even wierder. Awating news of an interview for another stint in India, although I wouldn't hold my breath as I don't feel that great from the interview. I suppose all of this will then help define the course if my life in the short term as I think it's time to move on from my current living arrangements (Not that they're that bad, just that I think I need to get away from the current ties). The rental situation here in Adelaide is pretty avergae atm as places are few and far between as all the investors are selling up. The options for single living are damn poor and I'm not sure where to start to look for a housemate (And that's kinda scarey) and finding someone who can live and consider the work arrangements will be difficult. Been going through some crazy shit personally which has been difficult ot come to terms with at times, but good ole Mum has been really good. I sometimes forget how much your family is good for you.

On a lighter note, I DJ'd last week with Madcap. I'd forgotten how much fun it is and with Serato, it makes it pretty good and it was nice not to cart about 20kg of records. (Now it's just time to do some serious recording of my wax). We are looking to start a regular monthly gig in the city at a friends new pub, which kind of now relates to my work roster.
I saw Cut Chemist on friday night. Damn blew me away. I've always been a mad fan of him since he appeared on Return of the DJ and his Lesson 6 on the first J5 Ep. Damn he didn't disappoint. He rocked a mad mad set, playing some of his new gear, mixed up with some of his J5 stuff and rocking a pile of his sampled gear . . . . Had been waiting in anticipation of seeing him for a few years. He did not disappoint, the crowd mad appreciative of his skills.

Life is wierd

12 months ago, I'd done next to no overseas travel, now, I worked in India, made a homage to Malaysia to see the family and been to Vietnam twice and the wife is living there. Who would have thought?

Me and my Man Bag

In the groove?

Well, been back for over a month, so back in the work groove. I've put in for some jobs offshore again, so let's see how I go. Means I'll miss the holday with Em and Fam at the end of the year. Ems lovin' her Vietnam life atm which is wicked as I reckon it'd be tough going and she's now hit the 6 month mark. Though I reckon she secretly fanatsizes about a Whopper Jnr from time to time :)
I got Serato Scratch which is filling in some time, and it's damn amazing. My man Rasp is over in NYC atm, Jam is still in Paris and Codes still chillin' in SE Asia.

Firewater

Lizards, Scorpions and Cobras. With my fear of snakes, there's no way I'm touching this gear. It's found all over Vietnam.

A few words

Sapa was amazing. I wasn’t too fussed about going, but so far the greatest place I have been in Vietnam. It was a 10 hr train ride up, which started out hot and on very hard seats, but it seems we were able to buy our way into a sleeper, which had a fan until Em busted it with her head. Got ripped off going from Lao Cai to Sapa, when the train stopped, but only about $1.50s worth each. Found a hotel really easily and settled and headed out for the night and ate at the markets and bought some souvineers and had a good rest. We were befriended by the girls, as I’ve mentioned previously, hired bikes for two days to get around out of Sapa. Went riding through villages which were amazing, where they still live off the land. The views were something else, goats, chickens, pigs and duscks roaming about. Kids riding water buffalo, Emma coming off her bike (She was OK luckily), hemp fields and water falls. Amazing, though I’m not sure the pictures do the place justice.
